Lyn Stroshin 2016-2017

DG Lyn and Alex Stroshin 2016-17
The theme of the Rotary year 2016-17 under RI President John Germ was Rotary Serving Humanity.

This year was the 100th birthday of the Rotary Foundation. To raise awareness of the Foundation each club was asked to have a Foundation birthday cake at the Governor club visits so we could commemorate this great occasion. The creativity involved in each cake was amazing! A few million dollars was raised for the Foundation at our combined D.5040 and D. 5050 Million Dollar Dinner with RI President John Germ as our guest speaker. Past RI President Ian Riseley also visited the district. A Young Professionals Summit was held in May. The theme of the district conference was Generations serving Humanity thus our youth groups were instrumental in the planning and implementation of the district conference.  Three Rylas ( of varying ages )were held throughout the district. A Business Networking system was created for all Rotarians in D. 5040.
