D5040 Outstanding Rotary Club of the Year

This prestigious award celebrates the club that has shown exceptional dedication, innovative projects, and impactful community engagement throughout the Rotary year. The criteria for this award encompass a range of achievements, including membership growth, public image, service projects, and contributions to The Rotary Foundation. The award is designed to encourage clubs to strive for excellence in all their activities and to recognize the collective efforts of their members.
 
The District 5040 Outstanding Rotary Club of the Year Award is a large cloth banner that the club may display for one year. The banner has the Rotary wheel and the words "District 5040 Outstanding Rotary Club of the Year". The name of the club, the name of the club president and year of presentation will be embroidered on the banner. The award will be presented by the District Governor at the District 5040 annual conference. 
 
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Club of the Year award, Rotary clubs must meet the following criteria:
  • Financial Standing: Clubs must be in good financial standing, meaning dues invoices and any balances must be paid in full within 60 days of receiving the invoice.
  • Achievement of Goals: Clubs must show progress in achieving their goals, including membership growth and retention, public image enhancement, successful service projects, and contributions to The Rotary Foundation. In summary, the club should achieve most of its goals, particularly the priority goals listed in Rotary Club Central.  
  • Project Impact: Clubs should emphasize the influence of their initiatives on the community, showcasing creativity, dedication, and alignment with one or more of Rotary’s five Avenues of Service- Club, Vocational, Community, International and Youth Service. 
Nomination Details
The Club’s Assistant Governor can nominate one candidate from the area’s clubs. The Nomination Form can be completed by the club president or a representative and must be signed by both the president and the Assistant Governor. The Assistant Governor submits the nomination.
