As the Rotary year comes to an end Doug and I would once again like to extend our since thanks for all of your support and the opportunity to Serve you and our District.

It has been a very turbulent year for Rotarians around the globe as we have adapted to living through a pandemic.

Our District, and indeed the entire Rotary Family, suffered a huge loss when District Governor Dave lost his battle with prostate cancer in March.

He did however leave us with many doors of Opportunity Open.
Our Rotary Family is strong and together we ensured that Dave’s year was successful, and his legacies will endure. The programs and committees that he helped to put in place will continue to change our world and bring more peace.

Together, we have had one of the most successful Foundation giving years due to your generosity, and belief, that our Foundation does indeed ensure our ability to Make a Difference.

And together, we have Inspired even more people to be a part of our family with the highest member increase in the Zone. A testament of how you are all leading by example and when your communities see People of Action working so hard, they want to join in.

On a larger scale, our commitment to eradicate Polio has hit exciting milestones this year with only two cases of wild Polio reported. We truly are so very close!!

Our efforts and infrastructure of this program have also created huge support throughout the world in battling Covid.

One of the gifts of Covid is the ability to Connect our World and bring our Family together through technology. It no longer matters if you live on the other side of our globe, we can still gather, exchange ideas, and inspire each other to do more.

We are so grateful to be part of this family that puts Service Above Self and contributes so much positivity to our world, and not just the people, but now with our new area of focus, to Mother Earth herself.

Continuity is one of Rotary’s strongest aspects and Doug and I are looking forward to the next 12 months as District Governor Lorne leads us to Serve to Change Lives.

We wish both Lorne and Sue an exciting year and thank you for your Service and dedication to our Rotary Family.

Darcy and Doug
