

The Rotary Club of Squamish collaborated with the Park's developer, Matthews West Developments Ltd., to install the playground with support of The Rotary Foundation District 5040 Grant of $10,000. The District of Squamish maintains the Park and playground for the 23,000 residents of Squamish area and visitors.
The Squamish Nation youth leadership team has contributed to lead the design of the play equipment. Symbolism and legends are tied to the equipment, based on the Squamish Nation stories tied to this specific land in this location, which has been the home of the Squamish people since time immemorial.

The goal of the Park and its playground is to connect children and community through nature-based play to the beautiful surroundings of Squamish and Howe Sound. The intent and hope is that the Park will provide a space where members of both the Squamish Nation and the Squamish settler community can feel welcome and safe, furthering the work of and opportunities for reconciliation in our broader community.
Through playground equipment like slides, swings and climbers, children can run, climb and play tag. These activities help to promote the development of agility, strength, balance and coordination.
