Assistant Governor and District Strategic & Action Planning Chair, Rotarian Ron Shaw of the Rotary Club of Lionsgate North Vancouver, is now confirmed as District Governor Nominee Designate to serve as District Governor in 2027-2028.
District Governor Drew Antrobus and Immediate Past District Governor Shirley-Pat Gale, on behalf of the Nomination Committee, provided these comments and background on Ron.
Ron is a `born leader’. He is bright, astute, energetic, pragmatic, caring, courteous, a great listener, sensitive, attentive to detail, flexible, strategic and very well respected. Ron inspires others with the ease with which he leads and his ability to build consensus in a quiet calm manner.

For over 30 years, Ron has led organizations and municipalities utilizing strategic thinking and consensus building leadership to find unique solutions to difficult problems, to manage projects with multiple stakeholders, develop policy, coach and mentor other leaders, and do workplace investigations as both an integrity commissioner and ombudsman.
He has been recognized by his peers nationally with an Honourary Life Membership in 2016 from the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators (CAMA) and was invited to be on the National Executive in 2012 for the Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference. Ron has volunteered for many organizations and association and has been a member of Rotary for 30 years.

• Served four years as area representative on District 6330 Youth Exchange Committee.

• Transferred to Rotary Club of Stratford in 1993.
• President of Rotary Club of Stratford for 2006-2007.
• Very active club of 135 members and numerous committees.
• Chaired numerous committees including Honour Student Banquet, minor grants and program.
• Awarded Paul Harris Fellow as president.
• Honourary Member 2018-2019.
• Transferred to Lions Gate Club in 2006.
• Awarded Paul Harris Fellow for work to transfer and assume treasurer role from deceased former treasurer.
