Rebound Orientation at Gavin Lake

On August 13,14,15, 2015-2016 Outbound Students, and their parents reconnected with each other and the Youth Exchange Committee, Rotex, (previously returned youth exchange students) and District Governor John and Claire Anderson under sunny skies at Rebound Orientation, located at Gavin Lake Forestry Camp, a beautiful setting in the Cariboo just east of Williams Lake.
The weekend, held every year in August, is about reconnecting, hearing about the student’s exchange year thr...ough sessions, and student presentations, a time for reflection and an opportunity for committee members to ensure that students and their parents are adjusting since arriving back home.DG John at the close of the weekend challenged the students to continue to make memories and to be ‘a gift to the world’ by staying connected to Rotary through New Generation programs and asking their parents to consider joining Rotary.
Applications for 2016-2017 Youth Exchange Programs are now being accepted with District interviews taking place in December this year, all clubs are invited and encouraged to become involved with building world peace and understanding one Rotary exchange student at a time.
