Friday, October 27 - Our week of club visits end with our visit to the Rotary Club of Burnaby, where we have good dialogue with the board and then an active meeting with the club.   President Doug Rennie is leading this club for the second year, with President Elect Sammy ready to move into the role for the coming year.  It is great for us to participate in three club awards and three Paul Harris presentations while we are there.   Membership growth and strategic planning are key areas of interest for the club, and the club has now established a strong Membership Committee to tackle this issue.

The Rotary Club of Burnaby works with the other clubs in this community, and was a major participant in the recently opened Burnaby Foreshore Park Fitness Circuit, the Coats for Kids project, and work with the lunch program for the homeless with Progressive Housing.  They are also active Internationally in famine relief in Africa,  Orphans in the Ukraine, and another project in Bali.

A special acknowledgement to Assistant Governor Nancy Eidsvik, who has had all her clubs well prepared for our visits with information packages and reports to us before our visits - I think we have seen her every day this week!
