Thursday, November 23  -  A great visit to District 5040's newest Rotary club, the Rotary Club of Vancouver Mountainview at their meeting place of Josephine's on Main Street in Vancouver.   The club continues its journey with vibrancy, and we have a great time with President Karen and the club members.   We are also joined by Honorary member Neil Ferrer - the Consul General of the Philippines, and the club's advisor PDG Gordon Dalgleish.

The club is well prepared for its first official District Governor visit - thanks to Assistant Governor Nancy Eidsvik who is doing a great job as the new club gets up and running.   And up and running they are, as the club presents the DG with their first donation cheque to The Rotary Foundation during the visit.

We have a great chance to talk with them, and to answer many good questions.   Several have already attended Rotary Leadership Institute and both their first President Karen as well as President Elect Edward will attend PETS in 2018.   The club was officially chartered by Rotary International June 13, 2017 and held their fantastic Charter Night on October 28 (see earlier post in this blog).
