Thursday, March 8 - Rotary Club of 100 Mile House - After a Wednesday afternoon drive from Williams Lake, we are now ready to join the Rotary Club of 100 Mile House at their breakfast meeting. Although President Linda is not able to be there today, there is a good turnout at the meeting and we have a great time.
We present the Wildfire Fund cheque to Wolfgang Paasche and learn of their plans - which are similar to those of the WL club - to equip and train rural firefighters in the area to be able to tackle a wildfire successfully. The communities to be supported include Watch Lake, Eagle Creek, 70 Mile House and Deka Lake.
While there we have the pleasure of helping induct two new members to the club, welcome to Rotary Julie Dale and Stewart Stolz. The club meeting continues with final plans for its inaugural book and bake sale which will start tomorrow in the community hall. We wish them every success in this fundraiser!
