Congratulations to eleven Rotarians from District 5040 who completed Rotary Leadership Institute Part 3 on February 15, 2020 in Richmond.

The Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) courses are fun, topical and interactive for busy business, professional and community leaders who want to be more effective leaders in their vocation and their Rotary club. It’s also a chance to learn more about Rotary so all members are encouraged to participate.

Membership growth is important, and retention is dependent on the quality of Rotary clubs. Clubs with good leadership are more likely to involve their members in exciting service activities and programs helping maintain them and attract new ones.

The facilitated discussions in this Part 3 session focused on strategic planning, international service, Rotary’s public image, building strong Rotary clubs and using the skills from RLI in the club.

Attendees return to their club from RLI with enthusiasm, new contacts, fresh ideas, an increased understanding of their potential as Rotarians and valuable skills impacting their engagement in community and international service projects and possible club leadership.

The session was coordinated by District RLI Chair Diana Smith, RC of Vancouver Arbutus. The facilitators were PDG Penny Offer, RC of Ladner, PDG John Anderson, RC of Tsawwassen and PDG Chris Offer, RC of Ladner.
