An April 18th Meet and Greet of 75 members, family and friends from all eight Rotary and Rotaract clubs in Richmond and Delta was an opportunity to learn about other clubs in the Area, be inspired by presentations on each club's achievements in service to our community and the world, and open the door to more collaboration on future service
The event, which leaders of all the clubs agreed to hold, was an opportunity to encourage members to network with each other – beyond our own clubs -- and not only achieve results through fellowship and friendship, but to network and learn from each other.
Rotary Clubs of Ladner, Richmond, Richmond Sunrise, Richmond Sunset, Steveston and Tsawwassen participated.

With cancellation of the District Conference this year so the District could develop and produce our very first Club Leaders Forum last month for club Presidents Elect, Secretaries and Treasurers this Meet and Greet has become a great opportunity for our clubs in the Richmond and Delta Area to hold our own networking event.
"We are Rotarians because we are, among other things, life long learners," says Richmond and Delta Assistant Governor Peter Roaf. "Learning is what we seek and what we offer. That learning is valuable to many in their working careers and to those who want to remain connected and productive in giving back.
When Rotary clubs socialize together and work together, he said, they become stronger, more visible, and more effective. Social events like this build relationships. When the opportunity for our clubs to collaborate on a project, collaboration is easier because of those relationships. Joint events create stronger stories for social media, and websites.
Peter adds, "Thank you to our Richmond and Delta club leaders for making the event possible and special thanks to our Richmond and Delta Area Membership Coordinator Suna Yee, of the Rotary Club of Richmond, representing the District Membership Committee, for organizing this Meet and Greet for so many of us."
