Burnaby
Heart of the Matter silent auction included over 600 items sold for revenue of $5,771 to fund the Health Fair in Granada.
$17,000 transferred to Bali for construction and furniture at the school for the deaf in a joint project with RC Lions Gate.
Burnaby – Deer Lake
The club purchased more Boots for its “Boots for Kids” Project.
Completed new Strategic Plan.
Burnaby Metrotown
Members supported the Burnaby House Gala to raise funds for various community projects.
The club welcomed a new member.
Burnaby Rotaract
Celebrated World Rotaract week with a party and induction of new member.
Burns Lake
The club is rotating the acting Club President until PE Greg Brown takes over on July 1st.
Two of the club’s major fundraisers, the Rotary Auction and the Club calendar have been reinstated.
Dragon
Two students sent to RYLA.
Gibsons
Starting weekly meat draws on Sundays at the 101 Brewhouse, $2.00 draw tickets and four prizes valued at $50 each.
The Gibsons Town Council has accepted the Soames Beach proposal so the process of looking for grants and other financial support begins.
The club is allocating $15,000 for scholarships and bursaries and $2,000 for the Elphinstone Rangers.
The March 13 guest speaker was local, Alan Harding, of Team Canada's shooting team and 4x Canadian national champion competitive pistol marksman who calls Gibsons home and his aim to participate in the 2028 Summer Olympics.
The Walk for Water project kicks off in April and donations are being encourage from individual members to support the virtual Roll A Hippo at the World Conference in Calgary.
Aaron Joe, the CEO and founder of Salish Soils, also spoke to the club.
March 27 was a social night.
Ladner
The club donated $2,000 to the Delta Life Boat Society for the purchase of a night vision camera to assist in night time rescue operations.
Two Delta Secondary School students are being sponsored to participate in “Adventures in Citizenship” in Ottawa.
A new Corporate Membership was established and the first Not-For-Profit Corporate Membership as well.
Delta Mayor George Harvie, Kyndred Living Society on support of people with developmental disabilities and, PDG Louisa Horne, from Halifax on membership, spoke to the club.
Lions Gate
The club received a $25,000 federal grant to continue the successful lunch and learn project with Silver Harbours’ Senior Centre.
New Westminster
The club welcomed another new member.
Final accounting for the Bevy and Bites fundraiser reported proceeds of $18,000.

New Westminster Rotaract
“Random Acts of Kindness Day” was held during for Rotaract week, and members handed out cards with encouraging messages to students at Douglas College.
New Westminster – Royal City
Annual Heart of the Matter fundraiser netted over $70,000.
Pemberton
At an Action Plan Meeting the club did a SWOT analysis to help build club plan for next year
Pender Harbour
8 Eight members and exchange student Emma exchanged StoryWalk stories at Tyner Park .
At one club meeting some members presented their project ideas and then members selected the ones to explore further.
Outgoing exchange student Noah spoke on his time in Italy where he enjoyed a lot of good experiences, but where the teachers in Italy were hard on him for not knowing Italian.
Four students, including exchange student Emma, were sponsored to attend RYLA.
Powell River
The club sponsored, managed, and members attended the Festival of Performing Arts on March 5th. Dance recitals that evening included President Kelly’s daughter Hayden.
Members attended the 81st qathet Festival of Performing Arts Grand Concert on March 8th for the judges’ recommendation from the entire week’s performances.
The March 12th social evening began with dinner at Royal Zayak restaurant followed by a screening of Universal Language at the qathet International Film Festival at the Patricia Theatre.
President Elect Matt Wate shared his experience in Seattle at the Rotary PNW PELS and solicited written feedback from the members on what they would like to see happen during his Presidential year.
After a club meeting members visited the new Uptown Apartments for a presentation and open house to learn about the concept and build.
Prince George
The Prince George Hoop-A-Thon is on Saturday April 5th
The Prince George Yellowhead club is producing the Adventures in Health Care program with at least 50 students registered in Prince George with teaching provided by partners such as CNC, Northern Health, BC Cancer Society and many more: https://adventuresinhealthcare.com
Prince George Rotaract Club has received a District Grant to help build the central Gazebo at the Rotary Community Garden that will give the gardeners a place to sit and meet with the other gardeners by the end of the summer.
Quesnel
Hosted the Quesnel Craft Beer Festival: 6 breweries, 2 cideries, 350+ attendees
With RC Sunshine Coast, co-sponsored six participants at RYLA South.
Held the 10th social event of this Rotary year.
Received a BC Gaming Community Grant
Richmond
The club collaborated with RC Richmond Sunset to hold a Mahjong social and fellowship night on March 15.
On March 19, Carolyn Ferguson (RI Senior Major Gifts Officer) and Carol Tichelman (Endowment Major Gifts Adviser) from the Rotary Foundation gave a presentation on the Rotary Foundation and Endowment Fund
AG Peter Roaf gave us a Rotary 101 presentation via Zoom on March 26.
Richmond Rotaract
Hosted Great Exchange clothing exchange, fundraiser event March 5 raising $1,700 for Saint James Music Academy.
Presented on the outcomes of Rotaract Club of Richmond's Wine & Design and the Great Exchange fundraisers to RC Richmond Sunset.
Richmond Sunrise
Zyan Sethi, aged 12, gave an impactful presentation to the club on youth’s perception of Rotary.
Donated to Richmond Rotaract Club to support that club’s project to provide clothing to those in need in Vancouver’s Downtown East Side.
Members helped at the Richmond Food Bank.
A Fireside Chat held for new members and, planned once a year, to include 11 interested members.
A club social was a trivia session.
Richmond Sunset
At the March 19 club dinner meeting, with 19 in person and 7 hybrid, including 3 from Singapore and 1 from Dawson Creek, President Elect Jackie Lau shared her experience at PNW PELS/PETS in February.
Richmond Rotaract President Ken Choy and Rotaractor Ali Safdori gave an update of their recent near new clothing exchange fundraising at UBC with $1,700 raises for the Saint James Music Academy
The club donated $1,000 for Rotary District 5040 Conference, as a Silver Sponsor.
Four Interactors from Hugh Boyd and Steveston-London Secondary Schools attended RYLA.
For the Rotary International Peace Park, all 7 benches and 16 poles have been purchased. Now selling engraved bricks for $200 each. 500 are available. Cut-off day for purchase is April 30.
Club bylaws have been revised for approval at the club’s AGM in April
Members held a family hotpot dinner, with karaoke and mahjong, hosted by Richmond Club President Hugo.
Sechelt
At a hybrid club meeting members received information and updates about the “Slack” platform the club is using for communication among members during a three-month trial period.
President Elect Kaitlin presented points for the club to consider as a result of her trip to PETS/PELS last month.
The club heard about recent re-allotment of funds for loans through KIVA and from the” We Paddle Together” Committee in working with the Sechelt Seniors Centre to arrange a “Kairos Blanket Exercise” with the Reconciliation Movement.
For March 15 and 18 Acts of Kindness members and friends completed a “Spring Clean-up” of the gardens belonging to a Member who is caregiving fulltime to an ill family member.
The March 18 Social Meeting featured speaker Katie Clogg, the Sunshine Coast Division of Family Practice/Primary Care Network (PCN) Manager, on the new PCN Program.
Steveston
The Rotary club chartered a new Interact Club at Richmond Christian Secondary school.
The club purchased a Peace Pole for the Rotary Peace Park with Musqueam as the other language for the pole
The club christened the first rapid response fire trailer at a ceremony on March 27th at a boat launch in Steveston with representatives from the Siska Nation – the first of nine First Nation communities scheduled to received one -- Disaster Aid Canada, DG Drew Antrobus, AG Richmond & Delta Peter Roaf, and various project and club leaders.
Sunshine Coast Sechelt
Members viewed a video illustrating the positive impact of Hippo Rollers on the lives of women and children in developing countries.
Terry Miller and his wife Margaret Acton gave a presentation on their working vacation to Project Amigo. Long term member and past president Ann Waldo passed away.
Walk for Water raised over $5,000. Interactors from Chatlech and Elphinstone schools walked with 3L bottles and the Hippo Roller.
Tsawwassen
The club formed a Garden club/group to share ideas about gardening and help one another.
Guest speakers included Rumana Monzur, originally from Bangladesh, who was blinded with acid by her husband, but earned her law degree and practices as a lawyer for the federal government and another from Delta Farmland and Wildlife on increasing food produced locally and supporting birds as they migrate.
The club held a planning session on the future of the club, “Roadmap to Success.”
A work party refurbished the flags and 10-ft. poles prepared for this season’s Raise A Flag fundraiser.
Vancouver Cambie
Members helped load a Rotary World Help container with used medical equipment and education equipment and supplies being sent to an overseas community in need.
Vancouver Centennial
Club members visited AnXin Community Savings in Richmond, the first credit union brand dedicated to Chinese Canadians and Chinese-language communities in BC.
Club members made their monthly visit to Grace Seniors Home in Richmond, where some performed variety shows to entertain senior residents.
Club members and Interact members attend the RC Steveston Fire Trailer dedication ceremony on March 27th.
Vancouver Waterfront
A club presentation, which attracted non-members, on tariffs and the implications on Canada, was presented by club member, Terry Lyons, an executive and board director in auto-part manufacturing, mining, real estate and financial services.
Members cooked lunch at Veteran’s Manor, run by Whole Way House, then delivered it and mingled with the Veterans to create sense of community and support.
Whistler Millennium
A Hoop-A-Thon, with 5 teams playing and including Major Jack Crompton, raised $1,500 for Whistler Community Services Society.
A presentation on the Maasai Education Foundation was presented on zoom from Tanzania.
Williams Lake
