The club is making a $10,000 grant to support the work of the Rotary Club of Atlantis in South Africa to feed children and improve school facilities along with another $5000 from a District Grant, if approved. PDG Chris Offer gave a presentation on his early December visit to the Rotary Club of Atlantis involved in “hands on” support to a very needy community, especially children.
The club is also providing financial support to the Delta Secondary School First Responder Training program, as required.
Club members and guests attended an afternoon hockey game between the Vancouver Giants and the Brandon Wheat Kings as a club social on January 14.

Speakers during the month included a world-renowned conservation expert, Asst Chief librarian, a representative of the Therapeutic Riding Society.

The club held a combined curling and Lunar New Year event on January 25th, including 30 curlers, visiting International Students and 50 Rotarians and family members who enjoyed a 8 course Chinese meal for the Chinese New Years.

The club completed Operation Red Nose having provided 412 rides home and made $ 65,000 in cash and in-kind donations in support of Youth sports and programs.

Further to the presentation by St. George's School student Shuyou Wen, on Enhance Case Competition, the club is sponsoring this event to promote Rotary among young generations.

The Wine & Design fundraiser on January 25 for Enterprising Women Making Art (EWMA) attracted 80+ participants to a venue near the Via train station in Vancouver.

The club continued its monthly breakfast, of pancakes, fruit, cereal, yogurt, fruit juice and milk, for students at Gilmore Elementary School.
The club’s social committee arranged for small Christmas gifts, maximum unit cost of $20, to each member.

Hugh Boyd Interactors are working with Raps Cat Sanctuary, collaborating with Strathcona Interact for 650 care packages in the downtown Eastside, McCalluster Movie night fundraising, Menstrual Drive for United Way's Period Promise Program.
Steveston-London Interactors continue their joint project with Grauer Elementary School EarlyAct Club.

Calendar 2025 Lottery “Draw” of the winning numbers for all the cash prizes to be awarded throughout 2025 was held on January 7 and phoned the $5,000 Grand Prize Winner.
A “Town Hall Meeting” on January 14 included AG Ross Cooper, who shared a summary of a Members’ Survey held earlier in the month and led an open discussion with club members in person and electronically.
