Saturday December 2nd,  Winter Wonderland - Leaving the Interact conference, we head over to Richmond City Hall where the Rotary Club of Richmond Sunset is holding their annual Winter Wonderland event.  This major fundraiser for the club sees a set up of decorated and sponsored Christmas trees adorn the lobby of City hall, and an official lighting ceremony with Civic dignitaries, sponsor organizations and Rotarians involved - including event chair Magdalen Leung and Rotary International VP Dean Rohrs.

There is a great turnout at the event,  Mayor Malcolm Brodie and several Councillors as well as local MLA's and MP are all there. We enjoy some short speeches, a cheque presentation from the event's major sponsor Aspac Developments Ltd., and then we head downstairs for the official lighting.   Mayor Brodie presses the switch and the lights are on.   To add to the festive occasion, Mayor Brodie plays the piano for Christmas carols with a choir (which includes PDG Gordon Dalglish) leading the singing.
