Our District Conference April 28 to 30 connected clubs with communities (our theme), showcased ideas from our own clubs, challenged our thinking with informative, effective speakers and included some wonderful fellowship and entertainment. Kudos to the organizing committee and to the Rotaractors who were so effective in keeping the fun in the Conference.

Next year's 2024 District Conference is in Terrace and Skeena Valley where it was planned to be held before the pandemic forced cancellation. The conference dates are April 26 to 28, 2024 and registration is already open!

This year's Conference was just one event in the past four, busy weeks. District Awards, presented at the Conference, and photos from the event are available on the District website.

The District's Annual General Meeting was held on May 4th, by zoom with high attendance was very good.  Most clubs were represented, and the format allowed for some good dialogue. Thanks to all those who participated.

Among the Rotary functions beyond our clubs and Districts, and out of mind for most of us, but essential in our large, complex organization, are the Council on Legislation and the Council on Resolutions. Every year proposed legislation comes into Rotary International from all over the world. This group has to investigate the purpose and impact and make recommendations on which legislation is feasible and appropriate to the current day. Past District Governor Lyn Stroshin has agreed to take on that role and will represent our District for the next three years. Many thanks to Past District Governor Ken Wilson, who performed that role for six years, who has agreed to serve as Lyn’s alternate. Thank you, Lyn and Ken.
