Tuesday, August 22 - We have made our way back to Central BC and arrived at Burns Lake. Last evening we had a dinner meeting with Burns Lake Rotary Club president Richard Vossen and his leadership team and learned about this active Rotary club and their many community projects. You cannot come to Burns lake without seeing evidence of Rotary in so many places - the Skateboard Park, the Spirit Square park area, the tennis courts, Civic Cemetery beautification - even the welcome signs to the community.
The club is also well known for its annual Tweedsmuir Trek, which welcomes our incoming exchange students to British Columbia with an outstanding wilderness experience.
This morning, prior to the club meeting, we join a team of four Rotarians to walk the newly upgraded Rod Reid trail and help with painting some of the bridges and lookouts along this lovely 2km walk. We join President Richard, Laura, Luke, and Jack and make short work of the painting - looks great!

The club meets at noon at the Chamber of Commerce Visitor centre building and is well attended even though some are currently out with the Trek. We have an engaging conversation with the club members during our visit. After the meeting, we visit some of the club's many community projects. Well done Rotary Club of Burns Lake!
