Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia

Image The Honourable Judith Guichon was sworn-in as the 29th Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia on November 2, 2012. Prior to this appointment she owned and operated Gerard Guichon Ranch Limited in the Nicola Valley in the British Columbia Interior. The Guichon family has ranched in the area since 1878 and Her Honour’s father-in-law was awarded the Order of Canada in 1974 for his leadership in Cattleman’s Associations and his contribution to agriculture in Canada. Her four children now manage the ranch with a 700 head cow calf and 700 yearling operation.

Don Evans
Image Don Evans has been a Rotarian for more than 27 years. He is a Past President of the Rotary Club of Vancouver (2002-2003) and has held many different positions with the club. He is also active with District 5040 as Strategic Planning Chair, a member of the District Foundation Committee and is a 2014 PETS Trainer. Don is also President Emeritus of the West Coast Railway Association, and has been active with the group for 40 years - it would be fair to say that railroading is one of don's passions .  Don also serves on the boards of both businesses and other non profits .He was awarded a Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal in 2002 for his active community involvement and was named 2005 Business Person of the Year by the Squamish Chamber of Commerce for his work with the West Coast Railway Heritage Park.


Alvin Law
Image Over 13,000 babies around the world were deformed in the early 1960’s because of a morning sickness drug, Thalidomide. Alvin Law was born without arms after his birth mother, thinking it was completely safe, used just a couple of the tiny pills and their lives were forever altered.

Yet, what may have become a tragic life-story did not turn out that way. Today, Alvin is not only a completely independent, remarkably successful professional speaker, but proof that out of nothing can arise one of the most inspiring stories you will ever witness.

Paul Dhillon
Image Global citizen Paul Dhillon speaks four languages and already has travelled to more than 90 countries. His career goals are to practise rural and remote medicine in Canada and conflict, disaster and humanitarian medicine outside of Canada. A political science graduate of the University of British Columbia, he studied medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and graduated in 2009. In 2011 he received a Certificate in surgical science by the University of Edinburgh, and in 2012 he was awarded a European Masters degree in disaster medicine by the Università del Piemonte Orientale, Novarra, Italy, and Vrije Universiteit Brussels, Belgium. This year he completed the Diploma in Tropical Medicine at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Deepa Willingham
Image Solvang, CA resident Deepa Willingham is a naturalized citizen of the United States. She was born and brought up in Calcutta, India where she obtained her primary secondary and undergraduate education, followed by graduate degrees in the US. Prior to her entrepreneurial endeavors in the energy sector, Deepa served as the Administrative Director of Ancillary Services in the hospital industry.

Jordon Prokuda
Image Jordon Prokuda is the President of the newly-chartered Surrey Central City Rotary Club. Over the past four years Jordon has been both a facilitator of District 5050’s Rotary Youth Leadership Awards program for young adults Aged 18-25 and has been both a head facilitator and committee member of District 5050’s Youth Adventures in Leadership Program for youth aged 15-17.

Bridget Sangster

Bridget Sangster was raised in Tsawwassen BC. Upon completion of high school, she studied biology at the University of Victoria. From there she graduated from the Diagnostic Medical Radiography program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Whilst in Canada, she predominated has worked at Vancouver General Hospital. She has also worked in Yellowknife.

Jessica is currently the president of Burnaby South Secondary’s Interact club. She has been an Interactor for the past 4 years having been a junior executive as well as fundraiser coordinator before becoming president. Jessica loves being apart of Interact and the Rotary family because of the amazing causes that they support. Along with that, she is grateful for the memorable experiences that Interact has provided her which has allowed her to meet many new people. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys reading, baking, watching movies and doing film photography

Kevin Tseng is a student at Burnaby South Secondary School, currently completing his final year of high school. He loves to take photos in his spare time and he is also passionate about helping other people. This is his second year serving as the Vice President of Burnaby South Interact Club. His goal is to promote Rotary’s motto: "service about self", and inspire more students to be aware of the ones that is in need of our help
