2008 District Conference "Rotary Rocks"

Dear Rotarians and friends:

Thank you to all of those that attended the D5040 District Conference this past weekend. You helped make it the wonderful success that it was. I have so many precious memories of this amazing event:

• The rocket ship taking off with the lights and thundering sound.
• The passion and life changing message from Rick Hansen.
• Carol Taylor's personality and frankness.
• The PR Panel and the direct message and tools they gave us all.
• The Youth Exchange Students and the GSE team and PPRIBI Len Smith and his wife Joy.
• The energy of the Irish Dancers.
• The sheer joy and fun we had on Saturday night with the amazing Abba Cadabra. I have never seen Rotarians and friends dancing and laughing like this. It was truly a night to remember.
• Mafufanyane - my special leopard - and the thoughtfulness of Bob and Judy Blacker - and the love of my family.

I am tired today, but still have a smile on my face as I look back on the fellowhip, fun and joining together of all during the weekend. Thank you for sharing the experience with us. We really did celebrate the great achievements of this Rotary District. The wonderful new growth and energy due to the hard work and commitment of all of you.

For those of you that were not able to attend - I hope that you will already have noted the date of next years conference in Victoria. You really do not want to miss it.
