Ambassadorial Scholarships Chair

The District Scholarship Committee chair is responsible for selecting a candidate (or candidates) who will serve as an unofficial ambassador of goodwill in a country other than the candidate's own.

District 5040 does not fund Ambassadorial scholars every year.

The committee coordinates the selection of scholars, promotes clubs to nominate candidates and coordinates outgoing scholar orientation.  The committee also coordinates orientation for incoming scholars, selects host Rotary clubs and individual councilors. The committee encourages clubs to invite scholars to their club as speakers and arranges for scholars to attend appropriate district events.
