John Berry named 2022-23 District Governor Nominee
Congratulations to John Berry from the Rotary Club of New Westminster who's been selected as the District 5040 Governor for 2022-23.
John has been a member of the New Westminster Rotary Club since 1987, where he's served three times as Club President.
He's been active in many avenues of service in Rotary at club and District levels, Especially in youth programs and supporting The Rotary Foundation.
His career included 40 years in the federal public service, mostly as a BC Regional Director in Agriculture. His volunteer experience outside Rotary is also extensive; he's current President of Baseball BC and Chair of Burnaby District Youth Soccer Association and has been on the board of a hospital foundation.
Vasi and I completed the last few club visits in December and this has been an incredible insight into all the amazing work that each of you do to connect the world in a very positive way! We are learning about how unique each of our Nine Assistant Governor Areas are and what an important role that each of our AG’s and District Committee Chairs have in supporting you as we strive to adopt & adapt to the changing needs of our respective communities.
Thank you for your support as we continue our efforts to grow Rotary in a way that we become more relevant and working in collaboration with an Area focus to better serve our communities versus remaining club focused. We are now at the end of our data collection for each of our clubs and in a position to assess the challenges and opportunities for each of our Areas as we develop our Strategic focus for the 2020-2021 Rotary year with DGE, Dave Hamilton.
Our goal in the New Year is to integrate our District support with your Assistant Governors and ensure that we are reaching you at the club level and supporting your efforts as best as we can so that you can continue to do great projects and initiatives locally and internationally!

John is from the New Westminster Rotary Club and will work with our District Leadership Team in preparation for his 2022-2023 District Governor year.
