Friday,  September 15 is an exciting day as we participate in the opening of the new fitness circuit at the Burnaby Foreshore Park. The three Rotary Clubs of Burnaby  (Burnaby, Burnaby Metrotown and Burnaby Deer Lake)  have collaborated on this Canada 150 and Burnaby 125 project,  and have raised $150,000 to partner with the City of Burnaby to create this new public fitness initiative. The four pods of the circuit look great and have been designated a National Demonstration Project.

Rotarians from all three clubs are there along with many from the City and members of the public as the official ceremonies get underway at 3PM with District Governor Designate Bala Naidoo as the MC.   Also speaking are Mayor Derek Corrigan of Burnaby and your District Governor.   Presidents Simone Brandl and Doug Rennie along with Peter Beynan present the cheque to the Mayor, and then Mayor Corrigan, DGD Bala and DG Don cut the ribbon to open the circuit.   Congratulations to the Burnaby Rotary clubs for a great project!
