In the spirit of this year’s theme, Rotary Serving Humanity, Rotary is partnering with other service organizations all over the world during International Week of Service, March 25 to 31, 2017. Rotarians are invited to join other volunteers, working to improve their communities in this collaborative week, from Lions Clubs International, Optimist International, Junior Chamber International, Kiwanis International, Moose International, Soroptimist, Y’s Men International, Pilot International, and Sertoma Inc.

In Ontario the Rotary Club of Oshawa-Parkwood worked with the Optimist Club of Ajax, the Lions Clubs of Durham Region and the Durham Regional Police to expand the Kid Safety Village, so thousands of children in Durham could test their safety skills in a fun learning environment.

In New Zealand the Warkworth Rotary and Lions Clubs started Warkworth Food Rescue to send off five tons of perishable goods to families in need

In England, the four Masonic lodges in Scunthorpe and the town’s Rotary and Lions Clubs came together to raise money for a specially-designed wheelchair that will enable a local woman the chance to compete in the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic

President John says, “This event will help us to promote all of our organizations, highlight membership opportunities, and reinforce the importance of doing good in the world. It’s a chance for our volunteers to forge lasting relationships and creating the potential for future joint projects. Your participation will also achieve one of the service goals listed in my presidential citation for this year.”
