At a recent meeting, we presented one of the 2 PHFs, which we awarded this year, to Burns Lake's Mayor Luke Strimbold. At 21 years old, we believe that Luke is the second youngest mayor in all of Canada.

He has been doing some great work for the community and surrounding area and has always been a strong supporter of our Rotary Club. A few years ago, while still in high school, Luke was also the recipient of our annual Youth Citizen of the Year Award. He was briefly involved with Rotaract in Prince George when he was taking some schooling there. Once he gets his Mayor's and his 'real' job schedules worked out, he intends to join our club.

We awarded the other PHF to Leone McHugh (her 2nd PHF) at our Installation BBQ on June 23rd.
