Rotary District 5040 Awards and Recognition
District 5040 recognizes clubs and Rotarians with a variety of awards presented each year at the District Conference. Depending on the type of award, nominations may be submitted by clubs, the Assistant/Area Governors and the Governor. The following awards will be presented:
Outstanding Rotary Club of the Year Award
This award recognizes the club that has performed in the highest traditions of Rotary in the previous year. Each Assistant/Area Governor can nominate one of his/her clubs for this award. Nominations are sent directly to the Awards Chair. This award is recognized with the Rotary Club of the Year banner which can then be displayed at the club’s meetings for the next Rotary Year. Rotary Club of the year award criteria and Nomination Forms are available on this site and must be submitted to the District Awards Chair by April 1st.
Rotarian Of the Year Award
Information, award criteria and Nomination forms are available on this site. Submit nominations to the District Awards Chair by April 1st.
Membership Awards
- The club with the highest percentage membership gain by 15th April of the current Rotary year.
- The club with the highest numerical increase in membership.
Best Bulletin/Website Award
- Is the material current and up to date
- Appearance: Does it communicate in a pleasing way?
- Readability: Is the bulletin exciting and fun to read? Is the website current and easily navigable?
- Club News: Does it inform about meetings, member activities, fellowship, projects, youth, finance, committee reports, plans and future events?
- District and International News: Does it report on District, Rotary International and Rotary Foundation plans and programs and other important Rotary communications?
- General Interest: Does it appeal to casual readers and others?
- Does it cater for appropriate Social Media content and comment?
Club Recognition - Special Projects Award
The primary consideration for this award is outstanding service in Rotary. Other civic accomplishments may be considered but shall not be a basis for selection. The Five Avenues of Service, the Object of Rotary and the Four Way Test should serve as a guide in evaluating a potential candidate. The nomination will be submitted to the District Awards chair by the District Governor or Assistant District Governors. Submission deadline: April 1st.
Club Recognition – Service Projects
Nominations come from the Assistant/Area Governor and the District Governor and should outline the reason for the recognition.
